The Minneapolis Star Tribune takes a look at Steve Hutchinson's impact so far with the Vikings. "Coaches, players and talent evaluators agree that Hutchinson has played the Vikings' first five games at a high level," the story notes. "But as he prepares to face his former team today in Seattle, Hutchinson has yet to affect an immediate impact on the Vikings offense, a unit that has produced a sluggish running game and only four touchdowns. Those early returns have renewed the debate about the value of a left guard, no matter how well he plays, and the Vikings hope mostly to capitalize on his intangible contributions than count on him to single-handedly create more yards for their offense." As noted previously, Hutchinson's departure has hurt the Seahawks more than it has helped the Vikings to this point, largely because continuity takes a long time to build and no time to lose.
