The Seahawks have decided to bring back QB Gibran Hamdan as insurance while Matt Hasselbeck recovers from a sprained knee. The team released WR Willie Ponder to make room for Hamdan on the 53-man roster. Hamdan doesn't give the Seahawks an experienced alternative to Seneca Wallace, but he does know the system and personnel here. Hamdan was not fully healthy when he went to camp with Seattle. His broken ankle should be fully recovered now. I'm guessing he'll look more comfortable out there. With Ponder out, RB Josh Scobey becomes the kick returner.
