Mike Holmgren's bestest buddy, Larry Nemmers, is the referee assigned to the Seahawks-49ers game. Nemmers was the official who worked the Seattle-Arizona game earlier this season. His crew did not flag Cardinals DB Antrel Rolle for a horse-collar tackle that later drew an NFL fine. Seattle RB Shaun Alexander said he aggravated his foot injury during that play. The Seahawks also thought Nemmers was slowing down their offensive tempo unjustifiably that day. In the bigger picture, the Seahawks are 5-5 under Holmgren when Nemmers officiates. Head coaches have a 1-6 record challenging Nemmers' calls in those games. Holmgren owns the only challenge victory, back in 2000 (he is 1-3 challenging Nemmers overall). The full league-wide officiating breakdown is here.
