The NFL Network has vowed to have its game coverage focus on ... games. ESPN is taking the show-business approach. Here's what they have planned for Monday night: Jimmy Kimmel will visit the booth during the second quarter; Shaun Alexander and Julian Peterson will introduce Seattle's starting lineups; Ahman Green and Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila will handle the Packers' lineups; Peterson will wear a microphone during the game; Tyra Banks will be the "featured celebrity in ESPN's MNF Transformation open that kicks off the telecast" (not sure what that means); Monday Night Countdown featuring miked-up exchanges involving Brett Favre and Mike Holmgren over the years; and a coffee-shop tour featuring Matt Hasselbeck with soccer's Julie Foudy. The highlight will probably be Kenny Mayne's "light-hearted look at the great lengths that are taken to get footballs ready for Favre before a game." UPDATE: ESPN notes that Mack Strong is now introducing Seattle's offense, and Al Harris will handle Green Bay's defense.
