The Hawks sure have it tough in the NFC West. They can coast through the division despite missing Matt Hasselbeck, Shaun Alexander, Robbie Tobeck, Jerramy Stevens and Bobby Engram for long stretches. They can part ways with Steve Hutchinson, put Marcus Tubbs on injured reserve, lose at home to the Vikings, lose at San Francisco and still cruise toward the playoffs.
The Cardinals' victory over the Rams today, coupled with the 49ers' expected loss in New Orleans (down big late), means the Seahawks can lose in Denver tonight and still lead the division by two games with four to play. With a victory tonight, the Seahawks would have a three-game lead with four to play. So, what is at stake for Seattle? Plenty. The team can still secure a first-round playoff bye as the No. 2 seed in the NFC. Hopefully the NFL will update its conference standings in a timely fashion tonight.
