The NFL's conference standings show the Seahawks third in the NFC. The league has not yet updated the standings to reflect the Panthers' loss tonight in Philadelphia. The way I see things, the top four in the NFC at present are: Chicago (10-2), New Orleans (8-4), Seattle (8-4) and Dallas (8-4). The Saints sit in the No. 2 seed for now because they win a three-way tiebreaker with Seattle and Dallas on conference record. Seattle sits ahead of Dallas for the third spot, also thanks to a better conference record. The Giants, Atlanta, Carolina and Philadelphia would be in a four-way tie for the fifth spot. Tiebreaking rules are here. ESPN lists the top six in the NFC as: Chicago, New Orleans, Seattle, Dallas, the Giants and Philadelphia.
