Bucs coach Jon Gruden has finished his conference call with Seattle-area reporters. He touched on various topics affecting his team, from quarterback instability to Joey Galloway's surprising impact at an advanced age. Toward the end, we asked him about Seahawks president Tim Ruskell, who left the Bucs for Atlanta before coming to Seattle. Frost filled the room at the moment the question hit the air. Gruden declined to comment on Ruskell or his relationship with Ruskell. Listen to Gruden here.
Generally these guys pay lip service to people they've worked with, even if the relationship wasn't buddy-buddy. Gruden did not do that. Remember, Gruden came to the Bucs with quite a bit of leverage, and his power in the organization changed the dynamics. Ruskell and GM Rich McKay left the Bucs after the organization won a Super Bowl in Gruden's first season.
