The Seahawks have released DE Robert Pollard, perhaps making room for a defensive back. I would expect them to be adding a corner given that Marcus Trufant could be out for a while with an ankle injury. We have nothing definitive about how long Trufant will be out, but the initial word was a high ankle sprain, and those things can take weeks.
As for corners, the team has a few options. Gerard Ross is on the practice squad. The team could go after someone on another practice squad. Several free-agent corners have been in for tryouts this season. One of them, Dexter Wynn, recently signed with Houston.
Others who remain available (date of visit in parenthesis): Alphonso Hodge (12/6), a 2005 fifth-round pick of the Chiefs; Patrick Body (10/31), undrafted; Josh Lay (10/31), a 2006 sixth-round pick of the Saints; Rich Gardner (10/31), a 2004 third-round pick of the Titans; Dennis Davis (9/26), undrafted; Leigh Torrence (9/26), undrafted; Ahmad Treaudo (9/26), undrafted; Jason Horton (9/26), undrafted; and Chris Johnson (9/26), a 2003 seventh-round pick of the Packers. Wynn visited Sept. 5.
I'm pretty sure the rest of those guys are available. Let me know if you have learned otherwise.
