The running game got out to a good start but what happened to it?
I always wondered what is the best defense that could face us and it is a good offense. I think that we had one drive in the third quarter. I remember stretching a lot and remembering I never stretch this much. It is what it is, Pittsburgh played real well.
Was it tough getting into a rhythm after the long drive in the third quarter?
I can't say that. I think that when we get into a rhythm we are really, really good. I think that after a while we just have to go out there and make plays and we didn't do that.
Do you find the defense and apologize to those guys?
I think that football is the ultimate team sport; everybody needs everybody. Matt (Hasselbeck) has a hard time throwing it if we are not running it, I have a hard time running it if Matt is not throwing it, if the line doesn't play well then neither one of us does our job, if we don't play well enough as an offense then the defense can't play well. If the defense is on the field too long then we can't get into a flow. Really the only thing that works is when your offense is on the field sustaining long drives and scoring touchdowns.
Were you shocked by the way that this game went?
I am always shocked any time that we get beat. I will always be like that.
How big was it to lose Mack Strong?
You know everything is just chemistry. Anytime that you lose a player it does hurt. At the same time we have tons of talent. Our backfield has always been able to come in and play well. I can't make the excuse, Pittsburgh just came in and played well.
