I asked Shaun during his weekly meeting with reporters if he was aware of the criticism he has been taking on the radio and on the internet. This was his answer:
"I usually don't know anything until somebody tells me so thank you. I just think that, for me, I've done a couple things that have been really exciting for this town and I think that at the end of the day, no matter what's going on, I think I'm either third or fourth in the conference (in rushing) and 11th in the NFL. I think that when you're that, there is 13 other teams that wish they had that position and there is 21 other teams that wish they had that position in their tailback. I think that because we've been so hot and so good and so dominant for all these years people take something that is not as good and make it seem bad. We're not in a bad position at all. We're just used to being better. That's what hard work will get you. We'll get better. I don't know because I don't really know what anybody is saying. I go out there and play hard. I think that our team has gotten better every week. I think that, even last week, even though we didn't really control the clock I think there are some plays that were just better. It just is what it is. It's part of football. The good thing is I don't have to be perfect for our team to win. It's just that when I'm really on we play really well and the fans love it so I understand that."
