LB Julian Peterson
(On falling behind early…) "You start off slow like that, give them like a 14-point advantage, same as last week, well last week we did a lot better job of keeping it close. We get into a 14-point hole and it's very hard to get out of a hole like that early in the game. Then it got to 21 to nothing early, so then you have to fight back and rebound. We had an opportunity to make plays, and we started to settle down and see the real us come out, but by that time it's too late. We have to find a way to start the game off strong, take advantage of the plays that we were given, but that's just something we didn't do."
(On falling short of expectations…) "The biggest thing is we are going to look at the film, see what's going on, see what we did wrong, see what we did right. It's not the end of the world, we can still bounce back, there is plenty of football left. It is very disappointing today, considering that, even though, you have to give it to the Saints, they came out and came ready to play, but we are definitely a better team than that, we just have to find a way to put four quarters together, and so far this season we haven't been able to do that."
Never miss a local story.
OT Walter Jones
(On New Orleans' front four…) "It was pretty active, they came out and they had nothing to lose, they just wanted to come out, and you come into a game and you haven't won a game, all you can do is play ball. You got nothing to lose, all you can do is go out there and try to play your best game, and that's what they did. They came out and played their best game, all three phases of the game they played well."
(On the crowd…) "That's any crowd, if you are not performing, especially with us, they are accustomed to us doing certain things, and we are not doing those things, so they deserve the right to boo us when we are not doing good, because that is our job, to go out there and do the correct thing and entertain the crowd."
(On the last two losses…) "It's tough, I talk to the guys all the time, I don't know what it is. I know they are out there fighting, I know they are not giving up, I know they are out there working hard every week, getting ready for the game. The thing about it is, if we go out there and get a drive here and get a drive there, and show how good we can be, it's just a matter of us putting it together for four quarters, we just haven't been able to do that yet."
