WR Nate Burleson
(On coach Mike Holmgren asking for a kick return at halftime…) "Yeah you've got to, whatever coach says you've got to try to adhere to it and try to make a play. The guys did a great job blocking for me, they've been doing a tremendous job all week practicing, so I knew we had a good chance."
(On the kick return for a touchdown…) "Well the first kickoff return, they actually kicked it high and I believe it was (Tom) Ashworth who fair caught it, so I didn't know if they were going to kick it to me the whole game. Once I got my hands on it, I looked towards the end-zone and there was a crease there, and all it is is just to try and find a window, and it was just that big for me to kind of slid through. Everybody did a great job, especially Will Herring, he was blocking his man all the way down to the thirty yard- line, I kind of stiff armed a guy, bounced off him, and once I got passed everybody I wanted to make sure there weren't any flags before I started celebrating, so I looked around, there were no flags, and out came the Hawk."
Never miss a local story.
(On his stiff arm…) "Well once you get passed the kicker, you pretty much should score, that's the way I look at it. That's kind of like the last line of defense, and I saw a safety coming, trying to protect his team from the touchdown and I was a little too hungry, I wanted that end-zone and luckily my stiff arm worked that time, there were a few times where it just shoved back into me, so I'm going to keep doing those bicep curls."
