RB SHAUN ALEXANDER
(On his game today…) I felt better. I think that I definitely could come into the game and do some of the stuff I like to do, and playing with the passion, and do some good things out there.
(On not wanting to come out of the game…) Every time we get a lead I always have to get pulled, and I'm always fighting to stay in. He did that two years ago when we are on that big run, and I said "Mike, come on." He usually gives me a warning, like hey if we score again, you're coming out. And, it happened again. I think I am just one of those people that I like to play the whole game, and keep it going, and see what happens. That's just how I am.
Never miss a local story.
(On his level of frustration so far this season…) That's just two different topics. We're frustrated because we're not running the ball well, but staying in is just playing the game. That's just two different things.
(On the game plan today…) I thought we had a good game plan. We moved the ball really well, we just have to figure out what we need to do in the red zone. I think our game plan was good to get yardage, but we have to figure out how to handle once we get to about the 30, because we are kind of putzing around a little bit.
(On the impact of his broken wrist…) Well, I can't do as many things, I can't carry the ball in my left hand, so that kind of changes my game up a little bit. But, it's been like that since the first week, so I think I am just now getting used to playing with it in my right hand the whole time.
(On the offense today…) We're moving the ball well. For me, it doesn't take much for me to get into a rhythm, just like any running back, you always want 40 carries. That's just part of being a running back. I think that our team, we got into a good groove. We just need to score touchdowns, and stop kicking field goals.
(On the offensive line…) They are getting better, and that is what we want every week. Every week I'm going to try to get better, and they're going to try to get better, and as a group we are just getting better.
(On the impact of the win…) It's huge. We are in first place, and we want to be able to play the last game in February and win it. To do that, you have to get into the playoffs, and to get into the playoffs, the best way is to win the division and at least get a home game. That gives you a good chance. Being in first place is very helpful for us. That is our goal, we have to find a way to win the division.
(On improving his own performance…) I am like that every week. I was like that in my rookie year, when I was hardly getting any plays because Ricky Watters was getting all of the carries. I disect everything, and I probably put entirely too much pressure on myself and my line. I'll still be the same way. We have seen good things happen from that kind of focus, and we're not going to change.
(On the frustration of the fans…) Our fans, they are loud, and they keep it crazy, and all they have seen out of me is great games, over and over and over again. When I'm not putting them together, they get frustrated, but I'm frustrated too about it, so it is what it is.
