The ankle is feeling better. The knee is still a little sore.
What happened in the second half that you sat out? The pain never really got any better. I said can you all tell that I am even limping. They said no. And I said, 'I need to win an Oscar.' I jut kept on playing and then after a while Sammy said we need to stop this. If we wouldn't have had a halftime, I think I would have been alright.
Did you get hurt on that play where you were pass blocking? No, I was hurt in the first quarter. Guys were holding my legs and twisting me. That is smart.
Why do you think this is happening? You were injury free for so long? Teams are getting shots at me. They are taking their best advantage of all the shots they get. Every time we play somebody they are like 'We got you this time.' They are excited so it is hard to explain to our guys as a group that every week I am a marked man. Before, I was a marked man but we were attacking them. Now, defenses know that we are on our heels and they are really taking it out on us.
You need that crease to make the first guy miss, isn't that when you are at your best? I am still making that first guy miss, it is just that a group we are not getting it going.
It seems like the first guy is getting to you sooner? Yeah. Yeah. But that is football. We are going to keep working.
Will you be OK on Monday night? Hopefully.
What did you see on the fourth down play from the sideline? It looked like all the other plays. We are not good at running the ball so we have to get better.
How do you think that can happen? That is a good question. If I knew that I would have fixed it a long time ago.
Is it especially frustrating given the amount of time that has been spent on the subject? It is what it is. It is like sometimes you have to take reality checks and say OK, you know what, what we have been doing is not getting it done so now we have to figure out some way to get it done. You can't win in the layoffs if you cant run the ball. Thank God we are still in first place. But it is hard to win games in the playoffs if you can't run the ball. And we have eight weeks to figure out how to do it.
You feel like you are banging your head against the wall? I don't know. That comes from so many different things. Is it the play or is it the backs or is it the line I just think that football is the ultimate team sport so it takes 11 guys to do their job. When one or two don't, it looks really bad.
If that had been you in the game instead of Mo, would that have been the play that was called for you? I don't know. We have similar packages. I think it would have been the same. I probably would have been booed though.
