A few quotes from San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith, who talked with the Seattle-area media today:
On Monday's game vs. Seattle:
"It's a big game, huge game. With all the struggles this year, (to be) two games back and playing the first place team – you win that game and you're just a game out halfway through the season."
If he holds a grudge vs. Seattle for knocking him out with a separated shoulder the last time they played:
"Not all. We play the game – it's a rough game – and you're going to have injuries. Things like that happen. In no way do I think it was malicious at all."
ON the 49ers' 32nd ranked offense:
"You can't dwell on the stats. We're right in the middle of the season right now and we've got to look forward. We've got to look ahead, and we're looking at what we can do to get better, how we can improve."
