For those of you who thought Mike Holmgren calling a quarterback sneak for Matt Hasselbeck on fourth-and-inches in overtime would have been prudent, he said he did consider it. But, here is the explanation about why he went with a run to the left:
"This is going to sound kind of odd, but Matt (Hasselbeck) is not a great quarterback-sneaker. There are some guys who are very good at it, and have a knack for it. I think if you asked him he would say the same thing, so the other thing is, if you play a team, that in that situation, they had big defensive lineman, 335 pounds, big guys, if you get a big guy right on the centers nose, some people in that situation don't cover the center, they did, and if that guy gets low, and gets right on the center, it used to happen to (Robbie) Tobeck too, on occasion, they can prevent the quarterback from moving any place. So there are teams that the sneak makes more sense for, I didn't think that was a viable call (Sunday)."
