Shaun Alexander is not going to play on Sunday, Mo Morris starting at RB. Mike Holmgren said he told Alexander that until he can put in a full week of practice he is not going to play him. So if Shaun is there next Wednesday, he has a shot against the Rams. Otherwise, no go. Holmgren said he thinks Alexander is close.
Walter Jones did not practice, and neither did Darryl Tapp, both having sore shoulders. Both will play, Holmgren said. Pork Chop was getting reps at Walter's spot and Ellis Wyms was getting time in place of Tapp.
Deion Branch also will play, which will reduce the number of reps Bobby Engram gets, though he will be in on three-receiver sets. Nate Burleson's time also will be severely cut.
Never miss a local story.
Leroy Hill was practicing and Holmgren said he is ready to play. CJ Wallace and Will Herring did not practice and I'm guessing neither will play since they have not practiced all week.
Lofa Tatupu and Kelly Jennings each had some nice interceptions, Jennings' tipped two or three times before he corralled it.
Game ball were given to Ben Joppru on special teams, Kevin Bentley on defense and Matt Hasselbeck on offense.
Running backs coach Stump Mitchell left the team because he has a severe illness in his family in Georgia. Mack Strong was stepping in for Stump at practice today.
