K JOSH BROWN
(On the celebration after the tackle of Hester…) It was Devin Hester, are you kidding me? It was just cool. I always told Kerney that if I got a big hit that I would do the flex like he did, but you don't think about it in the moment. They have a phenomenal special teams and you noticed we were kicking the ball all over the place, and finally forget this, let's kick deep. And we kick deep and deep in the corner, and he showed us exactly why you don't kick to him. He took it from the farthest end, and went the other way, and I just happened to be where I was supposed to be, and I held on for dear life.
(On whether he thought that he would have to make a tackle like that today…) Sure, yeah. The idea is to keep the ball out of his hands, and hopefully guys will get 3 or 4 or 5 yards, but it didn't work like that. We kicked the ball on the ground, and we kicked it high, but they are so prepared for people to do that to him, that they know their schemes, they know exactly how to help themselves whenever teams are not kicking to him. They go big guy, short guy, big guy, short guy across the deck and you try to kick it to the big guys. But there is a 3 yard difference, and they are not going to let the big guy get it. It's a sticky thing, and you have to be ready at all times.
Never miss a local story.
RB MAURICE MORRIS
(On the effort by the offense today…) Yeah, the offense came out fast, and we got the running game going a little bit, and the passing game. It was a great game for the offense.
(On what he thought after the Bears got a 10-0 lead…) We knew that the defense would settle in and the offense had to get some drives going and Hasselbeck was successful at keeping the tempo up, and we got that done.
(On how it feels to get the winning momentum…) It is great. Whenever you get a win in this league, it's a big win.
(On the touchdown run…) Coach made a great call, the line did a great job of blocking the guys up front. Leonard Weaver did a great job of blocking his guy. I just had to hit it, and we got into the end zone.
WR D.J. HACKETT
(On his thoughts on the win…) We threw the ball around a lot, we threw it a lot today and we ran it well as well. I think the same thing happened that happened last week, we started out throwing it a lot, and the defense had to slough off and that opened up the run.
(On the value of getting the receivers back…) Deion is not all the way back, but when we get him fully back, that's the deep guy we have.
(On how tough it is to gameplan against the offense…) We are deep, so you have to just pick and choose.
(On whether this type of offense fits the team better…) I don't know. If it is working like that, then we should do it. If it is working with the run, then that is what we should do, and that is what was happening the last couple of years. The run was killer, and that's what we stuck with. Right now, the pass is working.
