Here's the transcript of Warner's press conference with Seattle-area media:
On the importance of Sunday's game: "I don't think it's a season defining game, but obviously our backs are to the wall in regards to the playoff hunt. So really the next four games are all important to us. Obviously within our division the team that's pretty much held the top spot for a number of years now, and a team that's playing as well as anybody. I think it's a big game for us, it's a big game conference wise, it's a big game in the big picture of what we want to accomplish. Any more hits that we take along the way put a big dent in our chances to try to get into the playoffs. So there are a lot of things there involved, but most important is us staying on track and winning, and trying to do it against another good football team."
On if Arizona fans are beginning to believe in the Cardinals: "I think compared to what it's been for a number of years there is a lot of excitement. I don't know the last time that this franchise was 12 games into the season and they were actually playing for something, it actually meant something. So, you're starting feel a little excitement, a little more energy in the stadium, and around town, because we are still involved. It doesn't sound like much to a lot of teams, especially a team like Seattle that is there every year. For an organization like this, to be in the hunt after 12 games is extremely important, and it's important for our community, and the team, and I think people understand that and they're getting excited about that."
Never miss a local story.
On taking over the starting role: "When it didn't happen earlier in the season, you don't really know what's going to transpire. You kind of reserve yourself to, I might not play any this year, then early on to be able to come in in the no huddle package was extremely exciting for me. Just to know I was going to get a chance to play every game, now being the every down guy has been fun. It's been fun to get back in there and play again."
On attributing this year's success to the new coaching staff: "I think you've got to give them a lot of credit. The culture around here was completely different, we had never won. (Whisenhunt has) been preaching from day one to continue to believe and to stay the course, and to believe in what they're trying to do. You couple that with a bunch of guys that I think were tired of losing, and some additions that we've made that have had huge impacts for us. I definitely give them a lot of credit for what's happened around here, but I think there's been other changes too that have helped, and been instrument for us. But they definitely spearheaded it and have done a great job of keeping us on track all year."
On coping with all the injuries: "We just keep sending guys in and battling. I think that's just been the key, that there's no give up. Whether it be the guys that aren't on IR that are leading the way, or whether if be young guys that are stepping in and contributing in big ways for us. We just haven't given up. It's been kind of like, you encapsulate each game, and each game has had a lot of setbacks, a lot of things go against us. But we battle and we fight and it comes down to the wire every time, because we don't have anybody that's going to give up."
On his health: "Oh, I'm OK for an old guy. I'm hanging in there. I have a couple issues, obviously, with my elbow and stuff but outside of the couple distinct issues my body actually feels really good at this time of the year; legs feel really good, arm feels strong, all of those things."
On being one of the few QBs to wear gloves: "It was the end of last year actually. I actually started trying it the middle of last year. Probably for about half the season they practiced trying to find something that I felt comfortable with and then played the last two games last year with the glove and felt good with it. It was kind of at that point after playing those couple games that I kind of said, you know, I like this. I like the feel. I've gotten comfortable with it. I think I'm just going to go with it all the time and made that commitment in the offseason and then still continued to use it every day in the offseason and through training camp to get fully comfortable with it and have been wearing them ever since."
