Obviously a happy bunch after the game, so happy in fact that Paul Allen addressed the team in the locker room after the game -- a rarity -- and presented Mike Holmgren with a game ball. Holmgren became the franchise's all-time winningest coach today, passing Chuck Knox with 81 victories.
The compliments were abundant for Matt Hasselbeck after the game, everybody knowing that he was extremely accurate today. He had a 131.6 passer rating after going 22 for 33 for 272 yards, four TDs and no INTs. The WRs felt he was especially focused today because of what was at stake.
Josh Scobey told Darrin Beene that he was on the verge of signing with another team when the Seahawks called. He said if he had not been here before, he definitely would have felt like he was riding the coattails of success with only four games left. But he knows his teammates trust him, and he felt he had to make plays to prove himself worthy of being a part of this team. He said on this day at least, it felt like 2005, when they went out on the field and just put it to teams.
For those not looking at the stats, Mo Morris got more carries (13) then Shaun (10), though Shaun was the leading rusher with 38 yards, the 25-yard carry on fourth down his season long. They had only 80 yards rushing on 28 carries (2.9 avg), though 15 of those carries came in the second half when Holmgren was intent on running down the clock.
I spoke with Chris Spencer, who said that Darnell Dockett was pissed that he got pancaked. Spencer said they had to lobby the ref a little to throw the flag, but he said the ref was right there when it happened and he couldn't ignore Dockett ripping off his helmet. He said spiking the ball was the result of still being amped after that scuffle.
Patrick Kerney now leads the league in sacks with 13.5, and Marcus Trufant may be second in the league in interceptions with 7. Antonio Cromartie had 9 coming into Sunday, but Ed Reed and Asante Samuel each had six.
That's it for now, I have to start writing daily stuff I'll post quotes as they become available. And I've already had to delete a post today, please keep the language appropriate.
