LB JULIAN PETERSON
(On Marcus Trufant…) "Like everybody said, he's our most improved player, I would say, from last year to this year. We were very excited about Tru (Marcus Trufant) in the beginning of the season. He wasn't probably getting the interceptions like he was earlier but it really has picked up for him now. I think the games have really slowed down for him. There just happen to be two new safeties there for him, veteran guys who can talk and relate to him and tell him what's going on. I think that makes him a lot more comfortable out there. Plus, you have Jim Mora who's pretty much a secondary guru. We have him breaking down certain formations and how to play leverages. You see Tru being a totally different player. Now you see him playing to his potential. Hopefully he can grow up some more and continue to make plays."
WR NATE BURLESON
(On the win…) "We got a lot of guys involved. For Matt (Hasselbeck) that's a good thing. When he drops back in the pocket and realizes he's got three or four weapons at any given time, and you give a guy a ball and he makes a play. Not only at receiver but at the running back position, you've got Mo Morris, Shaun Alexander and Leonard Weaver. At tight end you've got Will Heller and Marcus Pollard. And obviously the receivers. We still got hat on the sideline. So if we continue to work as hard as we've been working, and get everybody involved, it's going to be hard for teams to game plan for us."
Never miss a local story.
(On getting Matt Hasselbeck to the Pro Bowl…) "I don't think its us getting Matt to Hawaii. I think it's just Matt being Matt Hasselbeck, being the great quarterback that he is, and putting himself in position to get votes. I'm going to vote for him. I don't know if that will count for much, but he'll get mine."
(On winning four straight NFC West titles…) "I know it's a great accomplishment. I'm just blessed and honored to be part of an organization that has such a winning tradition."
(On Matt Hasselbeck…) "Those quarterbacks are good. Obviously Brett (Favre) is a legend, and still playing at a tremendous level. But at the same time, you really can't put a finger on how much Matt is doing within this offense. Not just throwing touchdowns, but controlling the game, keeping everybody focused in the huddle, being able to crack jokes at the right time and get us to relax. Just doing a great job of leading this team. He is our captain, he's the leader of the ship and without him we don't go to sail."
WR BOBBY ENGRAM
(On his touchdown catch…) "I just had to get to it. I didn't get the best of releases, he had an outside technique. I tried to work him and get outside, and I felt like it was a lot of holding and grabbing. What they called on (Marcus) Trufant I probably should have got on that one as well. I knew Matt (Hasselbeck) was going to come to me. I'm just glad he stayed patient and stayed with me. Because I had to work a little bit, the press coverage was outside technique, which is tough against a corner route. I did a good job of shaking loose and Matt did an even better job of putting the ball the only place that I could get to it, and the defensive back couldn't."
(On it being a difficult catch…) "It was but I was in the endzone. For me to drop one like that, it was going to take a lot. Really Matt deserves the credit for being patient because he came off of me number one, and number two, his placement of the ball. It was a big-time ball."
(On if he keeps all his touchdown balls…) "No. I keep some, I give some away. Well I don't keep them my wife does. My sons want to take them to school and show them off. That one I actually gave to a lady who came down to the pro shop at my appearance. She has the sign 'throw the ball to Bobby', I kind of like that. I gave her that ball."
(On Matt Hasselbeck…) "I don't even know what to say other than the fact that he was like a field general today. He was poised and he was throwing with tremendous accuracy. He wanted that game badly and it showed."
(On this being a statement game…) "I feel like this is the time of year where we need to be playing like champions. I feel like we're defintely getting more consistent right now. This is the time to get consistent, going down the stretch run. But at the same time we need to look at the film. We still have some areas that we can improve on, and we need to improve on. We want to continue to move deep into the playoffs."
LB LOFA TATUPU
(On winning the division…) "Yeah, I'm getting used to it. Come from SC, just carrying it right through to the pros. I'm fortunate to be in this situation and I love the way the guys played tonight."
(On Matt Hasselbeck's performance…) "Not bad. No, (Matt) Hasselbeck, he played unbelievable; the rest of those guys, Shaun (Alexander), Mo (Maurice Morris) running the ball and those receivers catching the ball. How many did Bobby (Engram) end up with? He only needed 100-something for 1,000 I think. That's a big feat especially for the first time in his career so I'm keeping track of that, keeping tabs on that one; unbelievable by the offense. Anytime you score, what was it, 42, it was great."
