(On the touchdown reception…) It's kind of funny, Floyd Womack wanted to play on the beginning of that drive. I said I would try to say something to Mike, and I did, but Mike calls the play and I come out there, and I see him running downfield, so I have to make this one really count, and it was just a good play.
(On building momentum…) Every week we try to get better. We are harder on ourselves than anybody could possibly be. For our offense not to perform last week, we took it personal. We wanted to come out and do some things well and try a couple of wrinkles with some stuff and see how it went. We did some of it really good, and some of it we still have to work on. It's our goal to be playing on fire when it really counts. After you get into the playoffs, it's a dangerous situation because you could be spiraling backwards, and we've had a team like that before, a couple of years ago. Winning this game was important for us, and getting our offense to do a couple of things right. Some of the boys played well.
(On what it means to the offense when the defense is playing well…) We get excited every time our defense does what they do. We've always felt like our offense carries the teams, and now with our defense playing so well, now we realize that if we can just carry our part, then we should be pretty hard to beat. Our defense is playing outstanding. Hopefully they can keep that up for a couple of months.
(On how he felt physically…) It was the best I've felt all year and that's a good thing. At the same time, I think our boys just played well. It goes hand in hand. I've always been a person that wants to make sure my boys understand how much I love them and need them, and I think they did some things well today.
(On the importance of running the ball well…) There are few teams in the history of the NFL that have won Super Bowls without running the ball well. Five at the most. You're almost kidding yourself if you think you can beat teams in the playoffs, especially going on the road, which we'll have to do at least once, if you don't run the ball well. So, it's a thing that we have been working on as a group this whole year, and hopefully we're about to turn a corner.
(On the No Huddle…) We figured with their young defensive players that they had coming into the game that we might be able to confuse them.
(On his reaction to not starting…) I'm put in a catch-22 almost every week when I get asked the question. If I say it matters, then people say I'm not being a team player, but if I say it's good then people think do you not care? We come into the game, just like every game, with game plans to win, to put up numbers, but the biggest thing is to win, and I believe in that. Everybody knows how I feel about Mike, I feel like he is going to come up with something that is going to give us a chance every week. That was the game plan.
