Everything is turned upside down and backwards. The Seahawks' offense actually looks pretty good and their defense looks completely discombobulated. It can't stop Darren Sproles and it it having a hard time covering San Diego's receivers. San Diego took a 10-7 lead into the locker room.
It seemed like Seattle's offense should have more than 7 points, but Olindo Mare missed a field goal that negated a nice long drive. Charlie Frye looks like he has a good command of the game, and the running game for the most part is making some nice plays, giving Seattle a chance.
Now if only the defense could do its part. The front four are getting stood up, allowing other blockers to take up the linebackers, meaning most of the tackles are being made by Deon Grant and Brian Russell, which is not good. And the secondary is feast or famine; either they are forcing Rivers to throw away the ball or they are giving up receptions, including a 59-yarder to Vincent Jackson.
Nate Burleson, by the way, has the ice off his arm but he does seem to be favoring it on the sideline. That is something to keep an eye on because they could ill afford to lose him for any duration. Update:Seahawks PR says Burleson is OK and was yanked so the coaches could look at the younger receivers.
Also, Lofa Tatupu apparently has a bruised knee. No word on the severity.
