Because this is a day before a game, the Seahawks had only a walkthrough today with no media access.
It's been a weird week for access as it is because of the Monday night game followed by the Friday game, with basically Tuesday and Thursday off. That meant that everybody was scrambling yesterday to get in as many interviews as they could because we will not be speaking to players and coaches until after they play the Raiders.
Yesterday also was the first day we have open access in the new locker room at VMAC. Up until this point, we told the PR staff who we'd like to interview and they chase them down for you. Now, everybody heads to the locker room after practice and it is a free-for-all in terms of access. It's much nicer in this locker room though because it is so spacious that you don't feel like you are falling over another player to speak with somebody.
The locker room is still a work in progress though because it still contains the nameplates of players who already have been cut or, in one particular case, retired (Chris Gray). The rookies are in some lockers in the middle of the locker room; it remains to be seen if they will be given big-boy lockers once final cuts are made.
