On today's game:
I think for the most part we will be able to watch this film and learn a lot of things. Our mistakes today I think are nothing hard work can't fix.
On lack of preseason playing time:
I didn't feel that way. I guess I could leave that to my coaches to say what they thought, but I didn't feel that way at all. I've felt really good for a long time. I didn't think it was that at all.
On national reports of back problems:
That is not really what was hurting, my back. From what I was told is that 85% of the world would look the same if they MRI'ed it, and it was probably 5, 6 years old. That is not really why my back was hurt.
On his back:
It was really minor in terms of the injuries I have had.
On Bills Defense:
They are really good up front, their front four is really good. They've got two great pass rushing D-ends and Marcus Stroud, we've played him before. He is a great player, we have played him before, there is a reason they went out and got him. He is one of the best in the game. And then Kyle Williams, he just got a new contract for a reason, he is a good player too. So up front that was something we knew going in, that was going to be a challenge. I thought we did really well at times, and then other times like Coach Holmgren said, something here or something there, we got a little jumpy or whatever.
On losing receivers:
It's just tough for our team, I think any position just makes it tough. It is just one of those things you deal with. It is certainly not why we lost today. We just didn't play our best football. We have started out seasons before where we did not play our best football and we did it again this year.
On second half start:
It was tough, we kind of went back to basics in the second half and just ran some plays that we know. We just had too many three and outs, too many incompletions, too many third and forevers. You just make it really, really hard on yourself that way.
On today's game:
They made some nice plays. They had a couple tackles for loss, and it was not ideal conditions for either team today. We came out and it was just a little sloppy early on. It just seemed like we were a couple inches off on a bunch of plays.
On slow start:
We had a great preseason running the ball, throwing the ball, we had a great preseason all around. It is not exactly how we expected to perform today. We expected to perform better in some areas, and that is what the film is for, you always look at the film and you grade yourself and correct things you can correct. This week will be no different.
On getting the new receivers ready:
I think we have been speeding it up, we are on a fast track that way. This is where we are, and it is ok. We can handle this, like I said there is nothing hard work and a little communication can't fix and I'm not worried about it at all.
On Nate Burleson:
We are leaning on him big right now. We are definitely counting on him to step up and to make those big plays and to carry us at times. It was unfortunate, and I knew when I threw it, it was a really heavy football and it just went through his hands. I just tried to give him another opportunity. He dropped the easy one, and made a really spectacular catch on the hard one. I know that he wanted the next opportunity and he made the most of it.
On the young receiving corps:
I thought John Carlson made some nice plays today, I've got a lot of faith in Jeb. All of those guys, I've got faith in all of them. It is just a matter of how the coaching staff wants to work it and the plays they want to call. I just do what they want me to do.
On what went wrong:
We had a couple successful plays get called back, we had a bunch of false start penalties, I think it is important just to try to stay positive and keep your focus. Keep your focus more than anything. It is tough anytime you see a teammate go down with what looks like a serious injury.
On team's future:
I think we will be ok. I know that I am going to keep my head up. I know that better days are ahead, I know the offensive line are going to do the same, the defense they feel really good about things, we are ok. I think the leadership on our team knows how to handle this situation and basically the bottom line is get back to work.
On the early incompletions:
It is football, you have to give them credit, they came out ready to play and the crowd was into it. We weren't executing that well. I think we were pretty close at times. The first play I am not sure what happened; I feel like we were close there. The second play escaping it, but it was an incompletion. Sometimes you can rebound from stuff like that, we just never rebounded.
I am definitely healthy. Just a little frustrated and disappointed, but I am healthy.
On Buffalo's special teams:
We knew going in that their special teams was great and that was something we talked about we definitely respected these guys in all facets of their game, they have got certain things that are their strengths and we were well aware going into it. It was a bad game.
