Jason La Canfora of the Washington Post provides a good update on the Washington Redskins salary cap situation, which could influence whether or not they can sign another offensive lineman like Ray Willis.
Canfora says Washington has roughly $7 million under the salary cap. And they still have to sign other players to fill in depth, along with keeping about $3 million available to sign players when injuries occur during the season.
So it appears Washington might not have enough cap space to bring in an offensive lineman like Willis or Arizona free agent Elton Brown.
Willis visited Washington and Oakland. But the Raiders appear to be interested in offensive tackle Khalif Barnes, but the two sides are still far apart, according to the report. If the Raiders do sign Barnes, at the present time Willis' options appear to be either in Washington or a return to Seattle.
