The NFL has assigned 20-year veteran official Tony Corrente as referee for Sunday's NFC championship game between the Seahawks and Packers.
Corrente has worked one Seahawks game this season: the Thanksgiving-night one at San Francisco. The Seahawks routed the 49ers 19-3 -- but Corrente's crew called a season-high 14 penalties on Seattle in that game.
Corrente will have a different, mixed crew for Sunday's game. The league uses a so-called "all-star" crew of officials rated among the highest at each position (referee, umpire, line judge, head lineman, back judge, side judge and field judge).
This will be the fifth conference title game Corrente has officiated. He also had refereed Super Bowl XLI eight seasons ago.
