Russell Wilson didn't exactly sound bothered by getting sacked twice, hit four times and generally running around Denver for his own well-being playing two drives behind an offensive line that was missing three starters Thursday night.
And he sure didn't look the worse for wear, eh? That is regular-season or even postseason attire he wore out of Denver following the Seahawks' exhibition opener.
Wilson finished 4 for 6 passing for 37 yards. He regretted missing on a high throw that went through the hands of tight end Zach Miller on third down that ended the opening drive. But he praised his patchwork line for regrouping after a 45-minute lightning delay to allow him the time to find his only rhythm of the cameo appearance -- the second drive that went for 90 yards and Seattle's only touchdown.
I expect he and the starting offense will play about one half of next Friday's exhibition against San Diego at CenturyLink Field. And he may get James Carpenter (calf) and Russell Okung (toe) back some as the starting left side of his offensive line. The Sunday-through-Thursday practice week coming up will be each's second week of work since returning.
Never miss a local story.
Here is a sample of what Wilson had to say late last night:
