Contract terms were not disclosed. Omiyale is familiar with offensive line coach Tom Cable's zone blocking scheme, having played for him while in Atlanta in 2006.
Omiyale, 29, is a versatile performer who could play both guard and tackle, and could serve as a backup for Russell Okung as he returns from a torn pectoral muscle suffered against Philadelphia in December. He started 31 games at left tackle, left guard and right tackle while with the Bears
Also, according to Adam Caplan of Fox Sports, N.Y. Giants defensive lineman Dave Tollefson is schedule to visit the Seahawks beginning tomorrow. Seattle still is looking to add another edge rusher either in the draft or free agency. Caplan reports Tampa Bay and Green Bay also are interested.
