Greetings from Cleveland Browns Stadium. Well, he hadn't done much all week, but Seattle Seahawks quarterback Tarvaris Jackson looked good warming up before the game this morning, throwing 30-yard frozen ropes while offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell looked on.
Afterwards, he had a short conversation with head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider, and then threw several patterns with the receivers, along with Charlie Whitehurst and Josh Porits.
The verdict? Jackson is on the inactive list and Charlie Whitehurst will get his first start of the season, but Jackson looks like he will be ready to practice next week. Portis is the backup.
Max Unger (foot) also is inactive, which means Lemuel Jeanpierre will get first career start. And with Zach Miller out, Anthony McCoy will start at tight end.
Never miss a local story.
For Cleveland, cornerback Joe Haden (knee) is active and will start, but running back Peyton Hillis (hamstring) is inactive, which means Montario Hardesty will start.
