Things are just getting started at the Seattle Seahawks headquarters here in Renton. We'll get started with our live chat at 4:30 p.m., with Doug Pacey as your host.
Here’s the latest rumors as we’re less an hour away from the start of the draft.
Draft guru Rick Gosselin of the Dallas Morning News has five quarterbacks going in the first 12 picks in his final mock draft. Gosselin is considered one of the best draft predictors in the business.
Gosselin has Blaine Gabbert falling to San Francisco at No. 7, to No. 7 to the 49ers, Jake Locke at No. 8 to the Titans, Christian Ponder going to Washington at No. 10 and Andy Dalton being selected by the Vikings at No. 12.
According to ESPN, the Vikings expect seven quarterbacks to go in the first 42 picks.
According to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, the New England Patriots are trying to trade up to select California defensive lineman Cam Newton.
Len Pasquarelli of the Sports Xchange reports the Arizona Cardinals may already have an understanding with quarterback Marc Bulger to bring him into the fold once free agency begins.
In terms of the Seahawks and what's happening here, my sense is that Seattle likely will trade out of the No. 25 overall pick and let one of these teams that would like to take a quarterback move up, unless someone like Cal's Cameron Jordan or Illinois' Corey Liuget slips down the board and is available.
That's all for now.
