The purging continues at the VMAC in Renton.
Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network reports the that Seattle Seahawks have reached an injury settlement with defensive end Nick Reed, and that he will be released on Saturday.
The University of Oregon product had arthroscopic knee surgery the week heading into the Minnesota game and did not play in the last, two preseason games of the year.
Head coach Pete Carroll described the surgery as a cleanup to get Reed ready for the regular season. But with the play of Dexter Davis and Reed's size limitations, plus the fact that he was drafted by a different regime, the Seahawks must have been ready to move on.
Never miss a local story.
So this is another surprise roster move as we head toward Saturday.
