My story today profiles rookie defensive end Dexter Davis, who has earned the title of Mr. August this preseason with his play in the Seattle Seahawks’ first two preseason games.
Davis leads the team in tackles (10) and sacks (2) this preseason. He also has a forced fumble and fumble recovery.
“If there is one player who would be the MVP of the camp, one guy who came in at a certain level and has risen from Day 1, it’s Dexter Davis,” said Hawks linebackers coach Ken Norton, Jr.. “He’s been more than we ever could have thought.”
Michael Lombardi of the National Football Post says San Diego could regret moving receiver Vincent Jackson.
Peter King of Sports Illustrated said the Seattle Seahawks might get a deal done with Jackson, but he doesn’t’ see it happening this week.
