I can confirm from a league source with knowledge of the situation that the report by Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports of Tarvaris Jackson re-signing with the Seahawks is accurate; the veteran backup to Russell Wilson is expected to sign with Seattle in the next day or so.
This coming season will be Jackson's fourth in Seattle, the third as Wilson's backup. Jackson went 7-7 as the Seahawks' starter in 2011, months before the team drafted Wilson and made him a starter from game one of his rookie season.
Jackson, who turned 32 in April, visited Miami and waited for other potential offers since free agency began in March.
Seattle has gotten by with Wilson and former arena-league player R.J. Archer as its only two QBs through organized team activities that continued in its third week today.
The Seahawks are converting 2014 third-string quarterback B.J. Daniels to a full-time wide receiver and special-teams player.
