Michael Fucito confirmed today that he is still riding the high from his game-winning stoppage-time goal Saturday at Qwest Field. His father was watching on the MLS cable package, and he's been fielding congratulatory calls and texts since.
"I’d say still a little bit of euphoria," he said. "... The coaches giving me a chance. (Coach Sigi Schmid) made the point a number of different times on throw ins stretch the defense, stretch the defense. That was kind of what went through my head right before I made the run. And then Brad (Evans) made a point-blank throw. I just turned and finished it. It worked out in my favor."
However, Fucito also mentioned that he hurt his knee in the game and isn't certain he'll be ready to go Thursday at Dallas.
"I had a little bit of a knock in my knee, the turf is pretty hard. Kind of right when I went in on that tackle," he said. "Hopefully it will be all right. We’ll see (about Thursday). I’ll try."
