Here's the Sounders' third kit unveiled today in the Pro Shop at Pacific Place in downtown Seattle.
The jersey is expected to be used mostly in friendlies and cup matches. Yellow shorts and socks were also debuted. And you'll notice that the blue has been dropped from the crest, creating an all-rave badge on the yellow background.
Here's a bit from general manager Adrian Hanauer:
Never miss a local story.
"For us, it’s exciting. It’s something new. We’ve obviously sold a lot of rave-green jerseys. We’ve sold a lot of the blue. It’s another merchandising opportunity. It’s another opportunity to make a statement about our brand.
"We’ll use them not exclusively, but largely in the friendlies. Potentially in the Open Cup or Champions League. And I wouldn’t put it past Sigi to mix it into a league game potentially if he thinks there’s a possibility of getting points by putting a different color jersey on.
"I would imagine they will make their debut in one of our friendlies, which I’m evasively not going to be able to announce – but hopefully in the very near future will be able to announce."
Here's more from SoundersFC.com. And while I'll be back with more later, in this case the picture really does tell the story.
