Picking up on the post of yesterday, it should be added that while the Sounders have the eighth-most standings points in MLS, they are ninth when it is figured for average standings-point per game, which balances points won with games played). A good site for that is SettingTheTable.com.)
Seattle is averaging 1.3 points per game, with is less than Sigi Schmid's goal of 1.5, which he considered the playoff safe zone. It's also less than Dallas, which is behind Seattle int he standings due to having played one fewer game. On a per-game basis, they slide ahead of Seattle, averaging 1.4 points per game.
(Guess who's third in the lead on a points-per-game basis: San Jose, which visits Seattle at noon Saturday, even with New York with a 1.9 ppg average.)
Meanwhile, the Sounders' aren't training today, so I'm not expecting much/any news out of them today. However, MLS will announce it's player of the week, and I'll post that, along with anything else of interested that I come across. And as of now I'm still on for talking Sounders on KJR at 5:37.
