Sounders and Quakes at noon at Qwest Field. Game will be covered live on KONG at noon and replayed on tape delay on FSC at 3 p.m.
It's a big game -- not only for the Heritage Cup competition, but also for the MLS standings -- as the Sounders will hit the one-third mark of the MLS regular season.
And even more than usual, that first goal seems to be a huge one ... in part because this looks to be a potential 1-0 game, as the defensive Quakes could be even more defensive than usual looking to grab a point at Qwest.
Never miss a local story.
It's also Military Appreciation Day. And if you're going to the stadium, remember:
The Seattle Sounders FC, QFC, and Food Lifeline are encouraging fans to bring non-perishable food or cash donations to the Sounders FC match at Qwest Field on Saturday, May 22. The first 3,500 fans to donate will receive a Sounders FC whiteboard, compliments of QFC. Volunteers from Food Lifeline will be available at all gates to accept contributions. The donations will assist Food Lifeline, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending hunger in Western Washington. Food Lifeline makes every penny count, with 95% of every donation going directly toward feeding hungry people. Fans can also drop-off non-perishable food in collection bins at their neighborhood QFC or donate online at www.foodlifeline.org.
I'll post again from Qwest ... eager to see what kind of lineup Sigi Schmid goes with today... meaning mostly whether Fredy Montero is back in the first 11. (I'm thinking he will be.)
Until then, here is today's full MLS schedule (times listed are Eastern...)
