It's gone final. Sounders win, 2-0, on a pair of Nate Jaqua close-range rebound headers set up by Miguel Montano.
The result sends them through to the semifinals against Chivas USA back here at Starfire on Sept. 1.
This one got quite rough at the end, but no injuries noted.
Coach Sigi Schmid's overview quote after the game:
Never miss a local story.
"We did what I wanted us to do. We came out and we played with a lot of energy, a lot of desire. It didn’t matter who they had on the field – I know they were missing certain people – but it was our energy, our defensive pressure that helped create the game that we wanted to create, and I’m very happy for the team."

62nd minute: Sounders go up 2-0 on a second 1-yard header from Jaqua. This one was a follow on his first shot off the post after a Montano cross.
Jaqua has now scored in three straight Open Cup appearances: the semifinal last season over Houston, last week at Portland, and now two goals tonight.
50th minute: Sounders move ahead, 1-0. They had numbers breaking into the LA end. First Montano shot was saved, second hit crossbar, then Jaqua followed with a header from about a yard.
Halftime: Scoreless, and really without many great chances. (Reminder however: We're playing to a result: 30 minutes extra time if needed, then if still even: PKs.)
Both teams have taken seven shots; Seattle has put two on goal, LA none. Sounders also have four corners to LA's three.
30 minutes: Scoreless. Sounders generally getting the better of play.
Remember, more regular game updates at twitter.com/donruiztnt. (I hear the Sounders webcast is having some troubles.)
Kickoff: We're off. (Wow, those uniforms are bright in this sunshine.) Eighty-six degrees here at kickoff.
Lineups: For Seattle, GK Boss; D Scott, Parke, Ianni, Wahl; M Nyassi, Sturgis, Seamon, Montano; F Levesque, Jaqua. Reserves are Keller, Gonzalez, Montero, Noonan, Riley, Zakuani and Estrada.
Neither Landon Donovan nor Edson Buddle traveled with LA.
For the Galaxy: GK, Saunders; D DeLaGarza, Gonzalez, Leonardo, Lewis; M Klein, Kirovski, Mathis, Jordan, Cazumba; F Gordon.
45 minutes before kickoff: We have been informed that kickoff will be 7:15, not the 7 p.m. that we have been told all week.
In any case, both clubs are out warming up now: LA in white, Sounders wearing the electricity yellow kits in which they are 2-0.
Two hours to kickoff: A good number of fans took the Sounders on their advice to arrive early for tonight's Open Cup quarterfinal vs. LA.
I'll keep this blog post open all night with updates, lineups (which should be interesting) and postgame notes and quotes. Also, because this game is on neither TV nor radio, I'll try to be a little more active with blog posts and Twitter reports.
