A very good week for former Sounder Sebastien Le Toux (see post below) continued today when he was voted the winnner of MLS goal of the week. He was selected over -- among others -- Sounders forward Fredy Montero.

Major League Soccer announced today that Philadelphia Union forward Sebastien Le Toux has earned his first AT&T Goal of the Week award for his stunning curler in the Union's 1-1 draw against the New England Revolution on July 31st. This was Le Toux’s eighth goal of the season. Last night, the 26-year old added to his goal tally, scoring his ninth against the Columbus Crew. Philadelphia Union forward Sebastien Le Toux has been voted “Best Athlete” in Philadelphia Magazine’s annual “Best of Philly” edition. The magazine, on newsstands now, picks Philadelphia’s best in categories ranging from restaurants to doctors. Honorees are selected based on nominations sent in by fans and staffers. Le Toux leads the Union with nine goals and seven assists in 14 games. His combined 16 goals and assists are first among all MLS players. A starter in the 2010 MLS All-Star game, Le Toux was drafted by Philadelphia in the Expansion Draft after playing with the Seattle Sounders. He also played for FC Lorient in his home country of France.
