Adrian Hanauer's goal of a world-class friendly opponent next season seemed to eliminate any chance of Seattle hosting the MLS All-Star game in its third season.
Hanauer said the club would be interested in eventually hosting the game, but that seems almost certain not to be in the cards for the 2011 season.
"I think it’s been doled out a couple of years down the line, if I’m not mistaken," he said. "… It’s absolutely something that we’d be interested in and we do talk to the league about. But with new stadiums coming online and we had MLS Cup, they like the idea of an All-Star game in Seattle. But there are other teams that are deserving as well. I don’t think it’s coming to Seattle next season."
