Two main news issues from Sounders training today.
First, defender Jeff Parke was kept out of work with an ankle sprain. He was limping noticeably, and while coach Sigi Schmid didn't rule him out for Sunday, he didn't seem notably encouraged either.
“It’s definitely an ankle sprain," Schmid said. "We have got to see how he responds over the next couple of days. The earliest that we would think about having him train is probably Friday.”
Meanwhile, after practice midfielder Steve Zakuani said he knows what national team he plans to join, and he implied that an answer could come quickly after the season. Zakuani could play for either the Congo, or England, and he is in the process of getting a green card that could also open the door to playing for the U.S.
Best guess: Congo.
