Here's the background on Tetteh from UC Santa Barbara.
And here's a quick take on what the Sounders had to say today about their newest players:
Sigi Schmid on Tetteh … first off any new player is probably going to provide depth rather than step in and start because we’re an established team. It’s a little bit different than it was in year one. But he is somebody who can play left back, can play midfield. If he plays left back, he’s a very attacking left back, which is something good to see. He’s somebody who can turn the corner at left midfield. If he plays wide right at midfield he’s somebody who can hit the ball. He’s got good quickness. He’s got good athleticism. He’s another guy who’s a very very good competitor. So I think he’s going to battle on that side of the field, he’s going to give us options on that side of the field as well, and somebody also who also helps us in terms of giving us a flank player with the loss of Sanna Nyassi, who is another flank player with an up and down work rate and the ability to turn the corner.
Chris Henderson on ...
Cruz … good in the air, good athlete.
Carrasco is a competitor at midfield. There’s a lot of similarities to Alonzo, and with the amount of games we had last year and we’ll probably have next year, he could get a chance in there at the holding midfield spot. A real competitor and a guy who could play in the middle.
Meredith is a real competitor. He has the ability to make some big saves. He has some very good feet. His range distribution is really good.
Caskey is a guy who had a really good weekend. He can play in the middle of midfield. Good passer.
