"Obviously he has to feel comfortable with the cast on," Schmid said. "… He still needs to become comfortable with it yet. (Travel) is something we’ll discuss. … We’ll see. We’ve got different options."
Here's Montero's take (through an interpreter):
"It's a great feeling (to be back). I'm not used to being so far away from the team, and I'm just happy that I can get back and be useful to the team."
Here was Schmid's explanation of what the club was concentrating on today:
Never miss a local story.
"We wanted to work on our ability to get behind the defense in an early exercise," he said. "Yhen we wanted to work on just reacting when balls get played behind us, just to work on our reaction defensively, how we shift and slide with that."
And Steve Zakuani's take on the day's work:
"We worked on how defensively we react when teams get behind us. That happens during games, you know, so it’s just a matter of fine-tuning a little bit and getting back to fundamentals. We worked on that, and obviously offensively when you get wide trying to get something on the end of it. Those were really the keys of it; and also working on ourselves trying to get behind the defense. We had a few drills working on that. And then we played in a little bit bigger space – 9v9 – and then had some fun at that. It’s just a training where we have a little fine-turning before the game Saturday."
