Tacoma Tide FC have bolstered their roster with the addition of three players as they prepare for two matches this weekend in British Columbia, Canada.
Joining the Yellows are center back Vanya Popov, midfielder Facundo Dipascuale and versatile left-sided player Michael Uyehara.
Popov is an experienced PDL defender having previously played with the Yakima Reds. He was with the Tide this spring for over a month during tryouts and training. Dipascuale is an attacking player from Concordia University in Portland, OR. The Argentine was named the 2011 Cascade Collegiate Conference Player of the Year and had four match-winners for the Cavaliers. Michael Uyehara is a recent transfer to the University of Washington who previously played as a defender for Navy.
The Tide cross the border into Canada this weekend for league matches on Friday night June 3 against the Vancouver Whitecaps Residency and Sunday afternoon June 5 against the Abbotsford Mariners.
Tacoma's next home match is Wednesday June 8th against the Portland Timbers U23s at Stadium Bowl at 7 PM. The match is being called “Noisemaker Night” as all fans who bring any kind of noisemaker, from a cowbell, to a clacker, to pots and pans and spoons, will get into the match for only five bucks.
