A quick reminder that the Sounders and Whitecaps reserves will meet at 7 tonight at Starfire Sports Stadium. Admission is free, however, donations will be accepted at the gate and there is a parking charge.
And according to the SoundersFC.com blog:
The Sounders FC will have two international players in on trial this week that are both slated to appear in Tuesday night's reserve match against the Vancouver Whitecaps reserves.
Never miss a local story.
Irish striker Cillian Sheridan has been with the Sounders in training and is scheduled to appear tonight, as well as midfielder Myron Samuel from St. Vincent and Grenadines.
Sheridan, a 6-foot-5, 22-year-old striker, played for Celtic from 2006-2010, appearing in 14 matches and scoring four goals for the Scotish giants. However, he found himself out on loan for most of his time with the club, playing for Motherwell and St. Johnstone FC in Scotland and Plymouth Argyle in England. Last season, he played for CSKA Sofia in Bulgaria. At each stop except for Plymouth Argyle, he has netted multiple goals, scoring twice in 13 matches for Motherwell, six goals in 16 matches with St. Johnstone and four goals in 16 matches for CSKA Sofia. He also added one goal in Europa League with Sofia.
Last summer when the Sounders faced Celtic in a friendly match in July, Sheridan started for Celtic and played 56 minutes. He has also made one appearance for the Republic of Ireland on the international level.
The other trialist to expect is Samuel, a shifty 18-year-old midfielder/forward. He has played only in St. Vincent with Avenues United, scoring 19 goals in 16 matches in a very high-scoring league. He also has three goals in nine caps for the St. Vincent and the Grenadines on the international level.
