Their opponent will be Mexico, which needed 30 minutes of extra time to defeat Honduras, 2-0.

The U.S. men's national team will get a rematch with Panama at 4 p.m. today in a CONCACAF Gold Cup semifinal match at Reliant Stadium in Houston. The game will be shown on Fox Soccer Channel, with pregame coverage starting at 3:30 p.m.

The U.S. hopes to exact revenge on Panama, which beat the Americans, 2-1, in their Group C clash on June 11, marking Panama’s first-ever victory over the U.S. Panama went on to win the group. Panama went ahead on an own goal in the 19th minute and doubled their lead with Gabriel Gomez’s goal in the 36th minute before Clarence Goodson scored in the 66th minute for the U.S.
The U.S. is 6-1-2 all time vs. Panama, including a 3-1-1 mark in the Gold Cup, and the nations meet in the knockout stages for the fourth consecutive Gold Cup. The U.S. beat Panama on penalty kicks in the 2005 Gold Cup final and beat Panama 2-1 in the 2007 and 2009 Gold Cup quarterfinals. The U.S. has won four Gold Cups and has appeared in the last three Gold Cup finals, winning in 2005 and 2007 and losing to Mexico in 2009. It has advanced to seven of the 10 Gold Cup finals. The U.S., which hold the highest FIFA world ranking in the tournament at No. 22, is 3-3-2 (W-L-T) in 2011 and 41-6-6 all time in Gold Cup play.
Panama, which beat El Salvador on penalty kicks in the quarterfinals after a 1-1 draw in regulation, is No. 67 in the FIFA world rankings and is 6-7-8 (W-L-T) in its Gold Cup history. The U.S.-Panama winner will play the Honduras-Mexico winner in the Gold Cup final on Saturday, June 25 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif.
