Most of the Starfire Sports Complex was still white with snow, but the Sounders played on an artificial-surface pitch that had been cleared.
"It feels good," coach Sigi Schmid said. "It feels good to be outdoors and to get back here. This is our home: This is where we've got to do our work day in and day out, so it feels great."
There were two sessions today, younger players went this morning, and veterans in the afternoon. That changes tomorrow.
"We're going to come together, we're going to train at the same time," Schmid said. "We'll play a little 11-v-11 tomorrow, but there will be a lot of the guys who won't be in the 11-v-11. A lot of our attacking player will work on their own during that period of time."We'll be back with some training highlights after that session.
