"I’m feeling good," he said. "As you can see, I don’t want to leave the field. I’ve been training the last four days. The last two days I’ve been full-out training. I feel good. It’s just a matter of working myself to get 90-minutes fit, but I felt good in training today. I played a lot of small-sided games – 2v2s and 3v3s – and I felt good attacking and defending. Whatever my role is in the game coming up, I’m ready. I’ve got a good group of guys behind me, some guys that are playing good football and have been working hard this preseason. It’s easier to come into a team that plays good football and has some experienced players on the field."
Sounders coach Sigi Schmid also indicated that Johnson will play in the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal at CenturyLink -- and could start."I’m fit I’m ready to play," Johnson said. "I feel good. Now I just want to challenge myself to get better and better in training. We’ve got a big year coming up: a lot of games. We’re very ambitious this year: We want to win MLS Cup. The coach and the organization have worked hard the last your years to get the right players here to lift the cup at the end of the year. I feel grateful to Sigi and Seattle Sounders and Chris Henderson and Adrian and all of those guys for making everything happen in getting me here."
