Four players made their Sounders debuts tonight: Michael Gspurning, Adam Johansson, Marc Burch, and eventually Eddie Johnson, who came on in the 78th minute.
“You could see Eddie’s a good player,” coach Sigi Schmid said. “He brings some calm to the game. You could see he settled the ball and connected his passes. His speed is certainly a danger. … He’s going to help us.”
“There have been a lot of changes this year, but still there are eight or nine players that are still the core of the team," Alvaro Fernandez said through a translator. "We have been playing together for a little over a year now. The new guys that came into the team gotten into the rotation very quickly.”
